YOU ASKED, WE ANSWERED

We strive for transparency and honesty in all of our customer relationships and we seek to provide that through our FAQ section. • What makes your soaps different than the soap I can buy from the store?
Here at Luna & Meadow Apothecary, our soaps are not made with synthetic detergents and surfactants. We use all natural oils, butters, cosmetic grade colorants, and pthalate free fragrance and essential oils. Our soaps, as well as our other products, are all made by hand in small batches to ensure the greatest quality control measures can be taken.
  • What’s the minimum order amount? Do you accept bulk orders/wholesale accounts?
There is no minimum order amount. You can order a single bar of soap or 100! We ABSOLUTELY accept bulk orders and wholesale! Send a message through the "Contact Us" form on the home page, and we will discuss what products you'd like, specific fragrances, as well as packaging. For any initial custom order of artisan soaps there is a minimum of 8-10 weeks needed to complete your custom order. It includes ordering supplies and a cure time of 4-6 weeks. Our other products take about 2-3 weeks as long as we have the materials in stock.
  • Which countries do you ship to?
Currently we only ship to the continental United States of America.
  • Do you accept returns?
Due to the delicate nature of handcrafted products, unfortunately we are unable to accept returned products, with the exception of items found to be damaged or defective, and to be determined on a “case-by-case” basis only. If the product you received is in fact damaged or was sent by mistake, we will gladly do our best to fix the problem (for more info on this please contact us). We use detailed descriptions on each item, so that you know what you are buying. Please read each product description fully before buying. If you are still unsure about the scent, we'd be happy to give a more simple description upon request.
  • How quickly will I receive my products?
We will process & ship your order within 5-7 business days. We ship most orders via USPS Priority Mail which takes 2-3 business days to make it to you. All tracking information will be provided in an email to you, once your order has been completed. *Due to slow downs with the US Postal service, your package make take longer to get you. You are always more than welcome to chose "Curbside Pickup" and pickup your package.* We will always ship to the address you provide. We cannot be held responsible for incorrect addresses. This is your responsibility alone. Please double check the shipping address. If you made a mistake, email us as soon as possible and we will use the corrected address.
  • Why is my soap wet in the packaging/ why does soap sweat?
Luna & Meadow Apothecary is based out of the great state of Texas, southeast Texas to be exact, and we get EXTREMELY hot and humid. We have yet had to deal with sweaty soap, but because of the natural humectants found in handmade soaps, such as glycerin, it has the propensity to draw in moisture from the air around it. The more humid the environment and the more humectants in the soap, the more likely you’ll experience this phenomenon. There is nothing wrong with your soap, it’s just the glycerin doing its job.
  • I have sensitive skin, can I use your soap? Do you make soap for eczema, acne, psoriasis, etc?
We highly recommend that you try one of our unfragranced soaps if you have sensitivites. Soap is a wash off product and is only meant to clean the skin. We here at Luna & Meadow Apothecary make no claims to treat any medical condition.
  • Is your soap "Tearless"?
As is the case with all real soap and most detergent based soaps found in grocery stores, our handmade soap is not "Tearless." Please take care to not get soap into the eyes.
  • Does your soap contain lye?
True soap as defined by the FDA, cannot be made without lye (sodium hydroxide/potassium hydroxide). Soap is an alkali salt of a fatty acid, and is formed as a result of the chemical reaction between an alkali [lye] and an acid [fatty acids found in fats and oils]. When the lye solution is mixed with the fats and oils, the molecules of the alkali join with the molecules of the fatty acids and the final result is soap. When done correctly, the chemical process is complete and all lye is reacted out. This is referred to as saponification. So no, the end product does not contain lye.
